Dlaf Hajek was born in 1965 in Germany and grew up in the Netherlands
I initially studied graphic design at the Dusseldorf Higher Vocational School, but later switched to an illustration class. Currently, I am an illustrator, artist, graphic designer, and author. Hajek explores the sparks of opposition between cultural imagination and reality through folk culture, mythology, religion, history, and geography. Hajek's painting material is acrylic, painted on cardboard, paper, or wooden boards. He focuses on hand drawn creation and has never used digital technology to draw. His works are rich in color and have a strong sense of graphics. His illustration style is quite unique, with natural biological scenes often being the theme, but his techniques of expression are a bit of a mixture of abstract and surrealist styles.
